“I am in my age of pleasure. Ease is a limitless resource, things can be easy.”
-Isa Jamira
Isa Jamira—New York’s flyest farmer and activist—is tending to the seeds of Sankofa , the guiding force that inspires her blooming into her purpose, power, and limitless existence on this planet.
In the final hot summer days of August 2022, Isa gave life to Liberated Lands Inc., a powerful call for the freedom and liberation of peoples and the planet. The one-acre sanctuary is a budding land-enriched educational space grounded in the principles of decolonization, Indigenous wisdom, and the relentless pursuit of justice.
Isa cherishes her profound connection with Momma Earth each day by unfurling the tendrils of her deep wisdom, unyielding curiosity, and radiant spirit upon everyone she meets.
Her warmth, authenticity, and her immense pleasure in crafting her 2nd annual Liberated Lands Festival —in collaboration with Roots n Culture Farm in Hudson, NY— touched the hearts and souls of all who attended.

During our time in community, we united under the celestial canopy to explore what it truly means to be living, breathing beings deeply intertwined with culture, resistance, and the power of liberation. We celebrated with the enchanting rhythms of music, the graceful art of dance, capoeira, the alchemy of medicinal creations, the sacred act of seed preservation, and the serene embrace of meditation beneath the sun, stars and the gentle caress of raindrops.

“I am sowing seeds of anti-fear.”
-Isa Jamira
Isa shares with us the resilient seeds she carries throughout her journey as a Black farmer, activist, & steward of liberatory dreams.
Isa affirms her remarkable work as Black femme farmer, artist, and activist by embodying the "original womxn” in her— the timeless stream of Black womxn from whom the essence of life flows. From her deeply embodied wisdom, she derives her inner power and guidance to transform and healing with and for the collective. Isa willfully dares to subvert the dogmas of white supremacy by engaging in land stewardship that nurtures the wisdom from the fertile grounds of our beloved maternal ancestors. In doing so, she is able to outstretch her roots to welcome those journeying back to theirs, sowing seeds of abundance, joy, and vibrant community.
Dreaming is a revolutionary act. For Isa, reimagining systems rooted in reciprocity, mutual aid, justice, and belonging to Mother Earth is the portal to finding our way back home.
